The CSA and PE courses were developed by Dan Locke, a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the British Computer Society with extensive experience in Safety Critical Software, Airborne Electronic Hardware and Cyber Security Airworthiness Certification.

The Programmable Elements course was developed over five years and implemented within the Cranfield University MSc module on Safety Assessment of Aircraft Systems and the Airworthiness for Military Aircraft programme. The Cyber Security Airworthiness course holds BCS accreditation, one of very few courses in this discipline to carry professional body endorsement.

Dan's career spans senior roles at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, Defence Equipment and Support, the Military Aviation Authority and Thales UK, leading the Programmable Elements discipline across high-value defence and civil aviation programmes globally.
